Personal Accident Insurance must not be mixed up with car hire insurance - Personal Accident Insurance is usually covered by travel insurance - check your personal travel policy before selecting this as an extra to your hire car insurance.
Hire Car Insurance Excess - This part of each claim is the responsibility of the person insured to drive the hire car. The excess amount is the maximum liability the driver of the hire car will be held accountable for in the case of loss or severe damage caused in an accident involving the hire car (as long as the accident or damage does not involve alcohol consumption by the driver this invalidates all insurance policies). Car hire Third Party Insurance - protects the hire car drivers against a claim made by another person in the event of any damage or injury.
